Life is like driving a car

Updated: Jul 8

How often are you looking in the rear view mirror of life?

Are you asking what could have I done to change what happened in the past or taken a different course in life?

It’s not possible to put life in reverse to go back into the past and change it, you’re on a one way street!

Whatever occurred in the past cannot be changed.

If you hit a pot hole and burst a tyre what do you do, you’d pull over, change it and continue on your journey.

You wouldn’t sit in the car at a standstill with a flat tyre on the side of the road of life for months or years looking back wishing you didn’t hit that pot hole. You wouldn’t waste time thinking or dwelling on if only I had swerved to miss it, or gone a different route, or maybe wishing you hadn’t started on this journey so as to avoid that pot hole altogether?

You also wouldn’t get out of the car, change the tyre and sit in the car in neutral too scared to drive on in case you hit another pot hole. No you wouldn’t, you would continue on your journey knowing there is a possibility of hitting another pothole but minimise the risk by stopping off at a repairers to get the flat tyre fixed so you are prepared just in case you hit another pothole further into your journey of life.

You also wouldn’t change the tyre then sit in the back seat wishing your life was better which you could see in front of you through the windscreen. By not taking the driver’s seat, putting life in gear and heading towards a better life, you just aren’t going to make any progress towards it.

So where are you?

Are you sitting in the car of life with a flat tyre questioning how you could have changed what’s happened or

Are you sitting in neutral too scared to drive on in life in case you hit another pothole or

Have you changed the tyre and sitting in the back seat wishing you could have the life you could see through the windscreen?

You need to jump into the driver’s seat, put it into gear and drive on making progress towards a better life.

So how do you do that?

ACCEPT what has happened has occurred and there isn’t anything you could have done to change the outcome

Take ACTION instead of being paralysed unable to adjust to continue on in life

REPAIR the damage, by rebuilding your self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth so you are stronger for future setbacks in life

Move FORWARD and create a better life, one you deserve!

CHOOSE better tyres, not the same type as before to reduce the risk of a blowout when you hit potholes in life in the future

You may just find that the old car, your old life you were travelling in, is time for an UPGRADE

Be the driver of your life, knowing that the driver has CONTROL to either sit still or move forward!

You may even decide it’s time to move into the fast lane and ACCELERATE into your new life!

Take your POWER back, put your life in gear and move FORWARD to create the life you deserve!
